Disc golf course opens at Sweden Town Park
More than 70 people were in attendance at the July 22 celebration of the new disc golf course at Sweden Town Park on Redman Road. Participants were treated to complimentary commemorative discs, lessons, games and prizes. Shown in the accompanying photo are Councilperson Thomas Ferris (front, center) and others learning to throw a disc.
The 18-hole course is open for public play during normal park operating hours. There is no charge for playing on the course, which has also been designed for use as a walking trail.
The Sweden/Clarkson Recreation Department plans to hold a disc golf class in the fall for residents who would like to learn to play the increasingly popular sport. Disc golf does not require expensive equipment and is suitable for people of all ages to play. For more information, call the Recreation Department at 431-0090.
