New Road Dedicated in the Town of Sweden

Published September 17th, 2004 by Town Of Sweden

On September 16, the Town of Sweden held a ribbon cutting ceremony to dedicate the new road that will serve the Sweden/Clarkson Community Center and Royal Gardens Apartments. Sweden officials felt that a safer entrance from Route 19 was needed for both users of the Community Center and residents of the apartment complex. The new road will allow drivers to use the traffic light at Aldi’s to enter and exit the two facilities.

The road was officially named Bader’s Way in honor of the late Alan Bader who had served as the Town of Sweden’s Assessor for 28 years until his untimely death in June. Mr. Bader had been instrumental in planning the new road – helping to obtain funding and easements.

Cutting the ribbon at the September 16 ceremony were: attorney Mark Klafehn, engineer James Oberst, Councilman Thomas Ferris, Councilwoman Danielle Windus-Cook, Councilwoman Patricia Connors, Councilman Rob Carges, Mindy Bader, Elaine Bader, Supervisor Nat O. Lester, III, Richard Booth, Erwin Duryea, Monroe County Legislature President Wayne Zyra, Senator George Maziarz and Assemblyman William Reilich.
