Route 31 study underway
Following a string of fatal automobile accidents on Route 31, Supervisor Lester wrote to our state representatives asking for a study that would result in recommendations to improve the safety of that state highway.
Senator George Maziarz and Assemblyman Bill Reilich responded and immediately commissioned a study by the State Department of Transportation. According to the State DOT Regional Director’s Office, the study is looking at roadway characteristics including average speed, control devices, accident history and cause and effect patterns. The study may be done by April and will hopefully contain useful recommendations.
